The internet provides many valuable way of learning about the company. First, check out the company’s website. Most companies include an About Us page on their website which usually provides a snapshot of who the company is and what they stand for. Perform a google search on the company and reading through any articles that mention the company or its competitors. Get an understanding of the company’s strengths, their weaknesses, and know what is important to them. Reach out to any contacts that work for or used to work for the company. They can often provide insight that you won’t find readily available on the internet or in the library.
2 – Take note of your accomplishments. In the interview process, you want to focus on the things that you accomplished during your career not just the tasks that you have performed in the past. Did you successfully implement a new system on time and on budget? Did you overperform on a sales goal or create a new tool that saved your team time and money? Celebrate these wins and let your interviewer know all about your past successes. Focus on accomplishments that can relate specifically to the job that you are interviewing for and note how you can help their company win as well.

Spend some time thinking through the questions and write down your best responses. Enlist the help of a friend or family member to help you practice. Set up a pretend interview and have that person ask you these common questions. Pay attention to your body language and tone when answering the questions. Remember that body language and tone can be just as important as the answer itself. Ask your friend for feedback and practice until the desired result is achieved. Acing the practice interview is a crucial step in the interview preparation process.
